I did some research into the best scar removal options and I found that mederma cream and scaraway strips followed lastly by bio oil were the best options.. my questions are:

which is better mederma cream or scaraway strips?

has anybody tried any scar removal techniques and did they work?

how long after the operation do I begin using either the mederma cream or scaraway strips and the bio-oil?

I haven’t tried either of those but My doctor recommended Stratamed gel to me.It won’t let me post a link so here’s the blurb…”It’s a self-drying gel that forms a full contact wound dressing to speed up the healing process and minimise abnormal scaring. Stratamed is the first film-forming silicone wound dressing for use on open wounds and compromised skin. Stratamed improves the visible outcome of treatment and provides symptomatic relief.” google it,it’s an over the counter product and it’s been very helpful in my case,it might be worth a look.

oh great, another one to add to the list. I already bought mederma gel, bio-oil, nivea moisturiser and now scaraway strips.. now another one.. these are too expensive.. I did read that nothing should be applied to open wounds or recent wounds so was curious when to apply it and how long for etc

Lol,I was in the same boat, bought bio oil, silicone strips, silicone plasters, ceramide creams and then this.I’ve used it from week 6 when everything is superficially healed up until now,it’s been good at protecting the sensitive areas from too much friction so the swelling and redness has been reduced and it does seem to behaving a noticeable effect on the actual incision line as well. One upside is that one 5 ml tube lasts about 2.5-3 months at twice a day applications as you only need a small to do the job..I still have all the others and this is the only one Im Using at the moment. It’s a real pain in the arse when you have all these recommendations and options and no idea which actually do what they say on the tin.

2nd week in November last year, doc said keep going with it for at least 3 months,so almost there but I’ll probably go for a couple more at least as I’m still on my first tube..it does last a long time to be fair.

6 weeks for a (careful) masturbation session,12 weeks for sex but that was just down to opportunity,I’d have risked it by 8 if it had been an option..as to gym I haven’t been as I’m travelling about at the moment but for vigorous activities it was around the 6 week mark.
