If I’m honest it was a pretty much painless experience,the injections,I think there were 3 were more pressure rather than painful.The cutting itself I didn’t feel anything at all and I had glue rather than stitches so I didn’t get any pain from that either.The anticipation is far worse than the reality by a long shot.

The actual operation itself took about 15-20 mins from start to bandaging up at the end.I’m very glad they used glue on me rather than stitches,after 10 days the glue has fallen off and you don’t get some of the traumas that I’ve read on here regarding stitches.

I guess it depends on age. I'm 67 and reasonably fit with no underlying health conditions. The injection was like a bee sting and a little uncomfortable. I eat anaesthetic so had to have a few jabs. Personally if I could have got away with it...no circumcision as I had a strep infection undetected until 2 weeks after the op. Never experienced so much pain. Antibiotics sorted it. Life is about sensible choices and I had no choice.

Not a circumcision but I did have a frenuloplasty done under local and also a glans biopsy. It was OK. The injection goes into the base of the penis and it's no more painful than having an injection for a tooth filling. Slight pressure and a pinch and it's done. You'll have a bruise there for a few days after the swelling subsides. With the local in place I could feel pressure as they were working on the frenuloplasty and also when I had the biopsy done but it wasn't painful. Nothing more than the feeling you would get from squeezing your shaft when masturbating. I had the option of having gas and air (nitrous oxide/laughing gas) which I took for one of the ops, that was good fun 😀. Better than the poppers I used to take at raves, the fact that the surgeon was playing some absolute bangers whilst doing the op really added to the whole trippy ambience!

I was, in sept 2020. Honestly you feel the first few but i wouldn't say it hurts, i was 19 at the time unlike the other gentleman here: si yeah the recovery is the hardest part i would say not the operation, you feel nothing.

When I was circumcised, aged 12, to attend my boarding school, I was given a local. Since then I have seen many teens and adults being done with a local. Depending on the doctor and the exact formulation of the local he uses, you will be given between 4 and 8 injections around the base of your penis. You will feel the needle go in for the first and possibly the second one, but after that the area it will go into is already numb. The anaesthetic itself may sting a bit, but it's nothing that you cannot take and much less painful than a dental anaesthetic (but possibly a bit more than a regular vaccination).

The anaesthetic will take about 5 minutes to be fully effective and will last for 2-3 hours. The actual circumcision takes between 30 and 90 minutes, depending on the technique used, any pre-existing problem (such as phimosis), your anatomy and the desired style. 30-45 minutes is the norm though.

You will feel no pain whatsoever during the procedure as the anaesthetic will stop that. However, you will notice a bit of pulling and general handling (mainly because the pubis and scrotum are not anaeasthetised and the skin of each can get pulled a bit as the doctor handles your penis to do his job.
