Post circumcision care

So I had a adult circumcision 4 days ago. There’s no bleeding or excessive pain only slight discomfort during the night. However the frenulum area is quite swollen, there’s also some small yellow discharge where wound cut was made. Also slowly throughout the day there’s sorta a yellow liquid oozing out from underneath the penis head( near the wound) I’m still in my very early stage but was wondering if this swelling and discharge is normal and how long will the significant of swelling take to go away, thanks

That yellow discharge sounds like lymph fluid and that is normal for the healing process. As ever, if you are worried that you might have an infection then your doctor of surgeon should be able to advise

Okay thankyou, also do you know how long generally for the swelling to go away and does it usually go away when erect ?

I’m 3 weeks post OP today and all my swelling has gone, think it varies for each person though so could be before or after.

Ok thanks I’m hoping it goes away quickly like yours. Was your swelling really big especially around the frenulum area in the first couple days from post OP.

Swelling is going to vary from person to person.

My situation was a little different I had a fistula repair and circumcision done.

I was circumcised twice. First time was 5 months and 4 days ago. The dr took the foreskin from the circumcision and patched up the fistula. I had a catheter in for 13 days. I still had spots 4 months later that were swollen but was slowly going down as it was healing. The fistula repair didn’t take all the way 9 days ago we did what he called an “advance circumcision” he removed another 1/2” of foreskin and did a new patch. I actually go today to get the catheter removed. With having the catheter in I had discharge probably above normal than what would be seen with a typical circumcision. So far the healing and recovery process have been really different. First time I had bad bladder spasms, a lot of discharge, it was uncomfortable to move or sit in my recliner. This time no spasms, no pain (except for the occasional nightly erection) and less discharge than the first time.

Your body’s healing time is going to be different from everyone else and might take longer. Watch it over time and it might help to take pictures weekly to compare the swelling.
