I recently got circumcision on April 29th, 2021. It’s currently May 4th 2021, so I’m currently 5 days into recovery. I’m still suffering from slight bleeding around my stitches is this normal ? Also how long until the swelling goes down completely? My swelling has gone down significantly from the first day, but still very swollen at the same time. Please get back and let me know how your recovery experiences went. Thank you

Healing from surgery is an individual thing. Some guys heal quickly while others take longer. There is no absolute timeline. If you do some looking around on the forum you will see the journeys of many men - some good journeys and some not so good. You are very early in your healing period and nothing you have mentioned is abnormal.

I had a circ on the 22nd April. I have only just started to feel like it’s healed enough for basic exercising. The gland is still sensitive but I can now sleep on my front without discomfort. My stitches have started to come away but as they are dissolvable I just need to leave them. I’m still using anti back ointment that the hospital provided but it seems to be doing ok atm.

Just be patient and wait at least 10 days before u start looking deeper into your wound. Ur body will heal over time.

Hang in there buddy and don’t panic. Any issues, see your doc.

Had mine 3 weeks tomorrow and it’s about healed but still some swelling, in another week I would say it will be healed for the most part. I would say by 2 weeks it’s a tremendous difference. 5 days is still very early and your symptoms are very normal

I wrap it up all the time after cleaning it and keep the bandage on until the next day and repeat. You think I should be keeping it wrapped up?

I see a lot of comments on here about keeping it wrapped but my doctor said if the bandage didn’t fall off in its own to remove it within 24 hrs. I feel like with any wound ( assuming it is not open ) that the fresh air aides healing. I couldn’t say which is right but can tell you I feel i healed quickly compared to some people i have read up on this site. If you do choose to keep it unwrapped I would suggest a fresh clean jock strap each day. That will capture any discharge ( which is a sign of healing and closure) and keep the area “covered” but still getting air

Just my experience and opinion

It is suggested to cover the wound until it is healed and there is no discharge anymore.
