I have read a lot of articles that say the doctor will give instructions, but I wanted to get an estimate for how long I'll have to stay away from work after circumcision.
I ask this because I have already scheduled an appointment with a doctor, but now they called at work and said I may be called in during this week. I would tell them that I have medical operation and I can't make it to work, but I actually want to go since it has been too long without work due to the lockdown and I fear losing the opportunity to go back after not availing myself when needed. I work a relatively stressful desk job where I don't lift anything heavy or do a lot of exercise. Going to work includes a 5 minute walk from the bus stop to my apartment.
If anyone has gone to work shortly after a circumcision, please do share what happened.

Hi I had my circumcision on Friday afternoon & returned to work on the Monday after I do a desk job but have to walk around the office quite a bit & I have a 10 minutes walk to & from the station I was perfectly okay tight underwear helped .
If you’re NOT doing a lot of hard labour or lifting of anything heavy like in construction or something or if your work requires you to just sit at a computer then I’d say the very next day or two post op.
Also depends at what point of the day you get the op done - I’d definitely just take the day after off just to monitor myself.
What is your reason for circumcision? If it is not a serious issue I would postpone it just in case your recovery takes longer. Some men on here couldn’t wear underwear for 3 weeks after their circumcision some men were back to work in a few days. If you don’t go back to work they may replace you. If it was me I would postpone it and go back to work for a few months to settle back in and then book time off if you still want to get circumcised.
I had the same situation like you. Desk job with 5 minutes walk to job. I did my surgery last thursday (lunchtime) and went to work day after (friday morning)The package was wrapped up with bandage with just a small hole open to be able to pee.
In my case it was okay but I guess its individual.
I would say its more painful to work now 5 days later when I dont have any bandage in the boxers that protects. The glance takes time to get used.
Good advice, I’m having the surgery next Wednesday and have arranged Thursday and Friday off. I seldom take sick leave. I’ll return to work on the Monday and I’m mainly behind a bunch of screens or on the phone so hopefully manageable.
I got my circumcision on the 1st March I was due to return on the 8th but delayed it another day I return tomorrow on the 9th, mines is a heavy lifting job aswell I deliver frozen food driving a 3.5 tonne van so I’m abit nervous but hopefully will be ok tomorrow.
