How have i got chlamydia?

I had to do some heath checks for a sport i do, and i did a routine STI check, which came back positive for chlamydia. I have been with my partner for over a year, i know for a fact she hasn’t cheated, and i have never been with anyone else. Is there any way i could have got it? Toilet seat, scratched myself against something? Any possible way at all? Thanks for the help

What matters now is that both you and your partner need to attend a sexual health clinic - because you both need to start treatment, and she will need screening too.

Chlamydia is an STI and the only way you can get it is through sexual contact. It can present no symptoms so you or she could have had it from before your relationship. As has been said, getting free of it is the important thing and not recriminations. Take care.
