Hey gents, I've been really thinking of getting circumcised for the past four years but my fear is that I might no longer enjoy sex with my partner the way I currently am and I also fear that it might not look the way I want it to, or the healing process might take longer than anticipated. I also would like to know if I can be able to walk right after circumcision and how long it might take me to go back to work... I am currently on a 3week leave so will it be enough...?

What is your reason for having a circumcision?
Well, traditionally I have to get circumcised but my main reason is that the past year I've had problems with my foreskin, rashes would appear on my outer foreskin and I wouldn't be able to have sex for months then it stopped... 2days ago it reappeared (the rashes) now I have to wait again for my dick to heal from something I don't even know...
If you have rashes and you don't know the reason and it troubles you, then it's time to see the doc, bud.

Maintaining traditions is always good.
Repeated rashes on your foreskin indicate a need to talk with your doctor as soon as possible.
does that include things like public stonings and female circumcision...

Hey man, I had the same questions and it’s been almost a year since I got circumcised. I have zero regrets. In my opinion sex feels way better. Wife likes it too.

Yes I walked right out of the surgery and drive to my hotel. I went out of state to get it done and got a plane the next day. The only thing that hurt was when the doc numbed the penis. It was a relief to have it done, but a relief also to have it gone. It took about 3 weeks to heal and a few months to be all the way good. But I’m trying you it was worth it and I’d do it all again if I had to.
This was probably 3-4 months after.

No it was just cosmetic.

If it worked for you, that's great and there are plenty of circumcised men who feel the same way, but it's not the case for everyone. There are lots of posts here from men who are having issues with circumcision. Here are just the first three I found, but there are plenty more:

All surgery has a risk. Albeit small- but if the complications happen to you it’s a major issue. Think carefully. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.

If you want to get circumcised, it's your business, but you will have to live with the consequences if the job is botched. You should not be coerced into anything, circumcision included, just because it's tradition. It's your body and your choice.As for your foreskin issues, see a doctor.
The treatment might be easy and circumcision not necessary.
Also, do your homework and make an informed decision about getting a circumcision or staying intact.
If you read the entries in this forum, you will find that at least half of them are from recently circumcised men who are experiencing complications from their procedures or botched jobs.
Some men in this forum are happy with their circumcisions, but they seem to be the minority.
If you decide to get circumcised, I hope you're one of those men who are happy with the outcome.
You have to ask yourself why do I want to get circumcised? If you have no medical reason to have the operation, and it's purely cosmetic, you have to ask do you want to really put yourself through an operation when there is nothing wrong? If you do that's fine, you've just got to weigh up the personal benefit. I was cut due to phimosis, which meant my sex life rocketed and was 10x better post op because I could finally get stimulation all over my head, but that might not be the case with you.
Hello BhakoJust a quick word of solidarity, I have been considering the same for 4 years as well. For cosmetic reasons maonly (balanitis from time to time, but it s easily treated).
I have not done it yet, because I'm afraid to loose sensitivity (they cut a loit of hyper sensitive skin...)

There are also lots of men circumcised as adults who regret it, and wish they hadn't had it done at all though eg Nick Kusturis:
"After the circumcision I felt nothing, no sensation at all. I knew something wasn't right, but I just thought if I waited, everything would get back to normal. So I waited, I was in denial for the longest time. One day it just hit me that this was not going to change."

Kim and Pang 2006 studied 255 men circumcised as adults (pubmed 17155977) and found that
"About 6% answered that their sex lives improved, while 20% reported a worse sex life after circumcision."
The big surprise to me is that so many people reported no difference, but it still leaves more than three times as many men who reported things getting worse as men reporting things getting better.
Personally, I'd pay a year's salary rather than be circumcised, but good luck to you Bhako, whatever you decide.
I would do everything I possibly could to avoid circumcision unless for very clear medical reasons. Leave it as nature intended. A very sad experience was quoted in the media here in the UK a year or two ago. A guy of 23 committed suicide after a botched operation and he could no longer stand the pain.....An extreme example of course, but why take the risk if you don't have to?If you decide to go ahead for whatever reason research at least two doctors very carefully and find out their history and results over time.

Generally speaking if it's something you want you'll be delighted with it and if it's something forced on you you'll hate it. I was one of the few neutral guys and overall I don't regret it, plusses and minuses. You do lose some sensitivity but that means you take a bit longer to cum which is a good thing for you and your partner. I've also found that the longer buildup leads to a stronger orgasm. Would I do it again? Probably but I'm still neutral on it!
Yes. Do it. I had it done end of October after months of balitinitis (rashes) and phimosis. Took a while to recover fully. The results are awesome and the feelings different, but sensatuonal.
