Stitches will normally have done their job in 10-12 days and are best removed after 14 days to avoid stitch tunnels and for greater comfort and reduced swelling.
The cut edges will have sealed themselves too much for re-stitching to do any good. The wound will heal but may just take a little longer in those areas.
