Circumcision??

Hi! I’m 19 and have never masturbated because when I’m erect my foreskin is too tight and won’t move over my glands if that makes sense? Is a circumcision the only option available to me?? Thanks!!

Phimosis (tight foreskin) will not cure itself and requires some medical intervention. If you cannot masturbate then you will also have real problems with intercourse.

You need to be examined by a doctor who can advise if he thinks that there is a non-surgical solution in your case. For some lads it is possible to manually stretch the foreskin wider open with the aid of a cortico-steroid cream. However for many, especially past puberty when the foreskin thickens, this is not possible and circumcision is the only recourse.

Thankyou mate, that’s what I was thinking but I just wanted to get other peoples opinions 👍

Here is the NHS guidance on your condition. Circumcision is certainly not the first port of call. You will need to see a doctor to assess your suitability for a non-surgical solution. The will be stretching with the aid of a steroid cream. Only if that option is not suitable fir you or fails to work will you be referred for a circumcision. nhs.uk/conditions/phimosis/

You know you have a problem (phimosis). You know it hasn't fixed itself in 19 years. You know you are missing the pleasure your mates are getting (masturbation) and you will probably have a problem in the future (intercourse). You have been lucky that you haven't had an infection under the skin that couldn't be treated or an infection in your urethra (pee tube) that couldn't be treated because the pee hole was too tight to insert a tube (catheter). You know the next / first step. Call a urologist today. You know you will celebrate in 2021.

After I submitted this, I wondered about your health care for the past 19 years. I assume your foreskin was tight at birth and it was never pulled down. I believe parents are told it should be loose by age 3. The pediatrician should have discussed it during your hernia exams. Did any physician ever mention it during a school or sports exam? Did you ever mention it during any physical exam? So, the question: In your 19 years were you or your parents told 19 times that you had phimosis and you would eventually want to consult a urologist? Or did you feel you had a problem but did not discuss it with your parents or the 19 doctors? To suddenly say you have a problem that you have had for 19 years which was also not recognized by health care professionals is in itself a problem.

Before jumping to surgery, give stretching a good shot. The odds of complete success are high, there's no risk if complications, and there's no recovery period. You get all details here: phimosisjourney.com/
