How do I do the salt wash after circumcision? I’m on day 19

I have a bunch of dead skin on the penis and underneath the glans it makes my penis look weird and I just want to get rid of the crust without having to peel them off. Any advice on how to do the salt wash. Can I just put salt in a bottle and just let the water run on the incision area.

I heated water on a coffee mug, added a spoon of salt and stirred. Then I dipped my entire penis in the coffee mug and let it soaked for 5-10. It was a challenge and I made quite a mess! But, it worked for me!

Did you leave your penis in the water the full 5-10 minutes.

No!! It was impossible for me to hold the cup for that long. Kept my penis in the cup for about 1-2 minutes. Took it out and then put it back in. Basically my penis was in the cup for as long as I was able to keep it in!

I used basic table salt!

It needs to be ordinary salt (sodium chloride) as Moondog432 says and not Epsom Salts)

can I shower right after I do this method or do I have to wait a while before I can take a shower ?

So I just finished doing the salt method and it seems to have went good but then there’s weird goo around the penis we’re the crust was how do I remove the gooey slimes.

i would recommend the following.

apply a generous dose of vasline and cover it loosely with a circle or two of gauze. secure with a piece of plaster. the more vasline the better. wear your penis uptight as much as possible. the scabs will melt with vasline and it will prevent the wound being dry - and itching. remove before you wash. have a wash, do the saltwater soak and then air dry. reapply the dressing. so this until the wound is no longer dry and itchy.

twice a day take a jar that would fit yout flaccid penis and fill it with warm water. add a couple of table spoons of salt. in the bath area slowly position your penis inside the filled jar and push the opening toward the groin. i would sit down on the toilet seat and use the seat to secure the jar from falling. 15 mins.

these two together will promote healing, stop your wound from drying up, stitches from irritating you and scabs being too dry.
