New user: my Penis has dark spots on the shaft

Michael_anonymous profile image

Hi,

I'm new and very embarrassed with my question. so these last few weeks I've noticed a small black spot and now have two on my privates. I don't have a clue if it's the soap I'm using or could friction cause these spots.

I already need to visit a dermatologist for things around my neck, now this problem is not something I'm willing to speak about unless they have a cure.

I was hoping maybe a few members had this issue as I'm just lost, just wish i was married with a wife/kids and didn't care about marks like this.

thanks

Really you think it's a mole, I thought those looked different (raised from the skin). I was seeing on google someone was saying it's a pigment/hormone issue and the treatment makes the spots turn white. Still not sure how a guy gets them, I really thought friction with your hand or maybe laundry soap with your underwear.

It is fortunate you already have an appointment with the dermatologist. Get them to look at both issues.

Hi, I was hoping someone might have the same issue, I'm not someone that just drops my pants even with a Doctor and in that area is just more embarrassing.

if i know they can be removed or resolved I'm happy to show him/her. I did think it was a mole being it's black, but thought those are usually raised on the skin these are smooth.

I guess i could take a picture of the area (if it's allowed) don't want to get banned for nudity.

NEVER be too embarrassed to show any doctor your genitals if you have a problem there. This is a problem on your skin, so a dermatologist can at least rule out (or confirm) any malignancies. If they need treating, but by a different specialist, he can refer you to the right one.

I want to advise you to speak to your doctor about this issue.

I know it is embarrassing to talk about this, however, this may have other effects during your life.

I know how difficult it is to speak to “strangers” about your genitals and associated subjects.

When I was in my 20’s and still a virgin I had to visit my doctor about some concern (I don’t remember exactly what after 30+ years)

I made an appointment and went in with a backup issue in case I didn’t have the courage to mention the real reason for my visit. I didn’t have the courage that time. The second visit was a few weeks later and the same happened. I then made a third appointment and blurted out the issue before I had even sat down, just to make sure that I didn’t chicken out. I told him that I was concerned about telling him and that it was the third time I had tried to talk about it

The doctor asked questions and then asked me to get on the bed and expose myself. He gave me a cover and I made myself comfortable. I was tense and braced myself. He came in and saw the state that I was in and tried to relax me. He asked my permission to examine me and did so very carefully.

One concern that I had had was that I would get an erection when he examined me. That didn’t happen and has never actually happened to me even though I’ve been examined by numerous doctors over the years, many of them female. I am now at the point where I don’t worry about talking to any medical professional about this stuff.

I even had to go to the doctor after my wife hurt me while playing with me. She had been lying beside me resting on my hip while she stroked me. Somehow her arm slipped off my hip and fell to the bed, taking my penis with her. The pain was intense and I suffered it for a week or so, hoping that it would subside. We went to the first appointment available, with a female doctor, and I explained the issue. She examined me in a very professional manner and asked me to check back in a couple of weeks.

The point of this whole post is to let you know that doctors are professionals. They don’t judge you based on anything you tell them or show them. They are there to help you, however, they can’t do that unless you tell them what’s wrong.

Please, please, please talk to your doctor.

You should get it looked at by the doctor. Never feel embarrassed- I know that’s difficult but they are health professionals and believe me, your dermatologist has already seen plenty of penises in the office. They handle all kinds of growths that show up on genitalia. You’d hate for the spot to be skin cancer (yes, it can happen there). Don’t be afraid.

Here is what you should do. When the nurse brings you back to the room, you should tell her you want a full body skin exam. She will give you a gown to put on and tell you to undress when she leaves. There, you’re already naked under that gown and when the dermatologist starts checking you. He/she will probably ask if you have noticed anything in the groin area recently they should look at OR, if not, this is your chance to say “I’ve noticed 2 new spots on my penis that look like the one on my neck. Can you look?”
