Every year in the UK thousands of baby boys are circumcised for religious or cultural reasons. The practice, which involves removing a small part of their penis, is one of the most common surgical procedures in the world. But several European countries are considering a ban on circumcision, unless there are medical reasons for the operation to be carried out. Is it something we should consider banning here?

Just had a circumcision so definitely gonna watch this program not sure if this program will be available outside the Uk as when was in Australia sometime visiting family and friends i couldn't get access to British on live media players because of copy right rules but definitely think this could be interesting to see was also wondering why in America 90 per cent of new born baby boys have this done its very interesting to see which countries do this while others won't unless you pay for it.

It’s done routinely in the USA so the doctors can make a bit more money for a few minutes work.
Not sure if it will be available outside the UK. I helped the programmes Associate Producer Ali May with his research for the film. Ali has written an inspiring article in the Huff Post entitled Child Protection Laws Are Clear – Except When It Comes To Male Circumcision. Here is the link: huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/... You ask why newborn babies have this done in the USA. The simple reason is that doctors are making money out of it. The circumcision rate has fallen in the USA, In some states it is now down to 50%
I hope we will be able to get this in a version that can be seen outside the UK.
I just watched it. I’m left a bit confused. All the way through he seemed to be saying that it was an unnecessary procedure that neither Muslims nor Jews demanded, and met men who regretted having it done to them as infants... BUT in the end said that if it’s properly regulated then it should continue as if it was banned those people would continue to have it done in any case with less qualified people. Very dodgy logic I think. By the same token maybe the law should say there’s no point in trying to stop speeding motorists as they will continue to do it anyway? From my perspective his journalistic stance fell to bits in the last 2 minutes inexplicably and he reverted to the cultural norms without any real justification. All in all a confusing and confused piece I found.
I totally agree. I appeared briefly in the programme but did not speak. I was at the meeting in stone where men were talking about the damage . There were some powerful stories that they did not use and Adnan was visibly shaken by them . I was disappointed in it.
