I just want to check has anyone experiencing bad constipation as a result of perimenopause. I have been taking Laxido for about 9 months now. My doctor is not sure if perimenopause is the cause of it, but a menopause doctor says yes it can. I have had colonscopy and CT scan of bowel and everything was clear then.

Perimenopause - Constipation
I doubt that you’re alone coping with this.
Constipation is something I’ve had problems with myself, plus urinary frequency. I had a referral..and was advised to try Laxido. Because constipation can trigger bladder problems. I tried it for a while until constipation eased.
You’re probably aware of all the tips and advice, but if not here’s a link..
Hello!
Yes, my pre-existing tendency to constipation got much worse with peri-menopause. Peri-menopause caused disturbed sleep, which caused anxiety, which kicked a number of pre-existing issues into overdrive, including constipation and digestive problems. I tried HRT, but it didn’t suit me, so I’m now on low-dose amitriptyline, to help with the sleep issues. This does seem to be helping somewhat. I’ve also cut out lactose and gluten, which has also helped. Staying properly hydrated helps, as does looking at what is causing your symptoms. HRT is worth looking at. I may give it another go in the future potentially. Have you thought of getting treatment for your peri-menopausal symptoms?
Wishing you luck in finding the right treatment for you!
