High diastolic blood pressure

Hi,

I am 57 and had my last period about 4 years ago. Recently, I have been struggling with quite frequent hot flushes, waking up at 3 am hot and sweaty, increased anxiety. I also have a fairly normal systolic blood pressure but my diastolic has gone up quite considerably.

I am slim, fit and eat healthily. I do have an underachieve thyroid but it is well controlled. Anyone else had something similar? Any suggestions about what to do about it gratefully received!

Thanks

I agree. Definitely worth discussing with your doctor whether HRT is right for you.

ah interesting - thank you for replying. Would you mind sharing what you use for your high blood pressure please? I’m just in the early stages of exploring medication options.

Many thanks
