I’m struggling with brain fog 😪 I seem to be spending my life going through the alphabet to remember names of people or just about everything! In other circumstances I might find it funny but now I cry about it. Some days are better than others. I don’t even feel safe driving. I love cooking but can’t remember recipes I’ve been making for years. I’m finding myself looking for excuses to not going anywhere. I just want to be back to normal

I’m struggling
hello
I hope you’re ok I feel the same a lot if the time I’m 52, I work full time and feel like I’m crap at my job and forget most things, I felt the same driving the other week , I hate it, I’m on HRT well gel and have a mirena coil but can’t say I’ve noticed any difference , hang in there x
thanks for your support I’ve just had a chat with my husband who is very good but I’ve told him again how I’m not coping too well right now! I’ve ordered valerian to see if that helps with sleeping I’m so tired all the time. I’m on HRT too and have recently had my mirena coil taken out. Thank goodness it’s not a taboo subject anymore take care too and as a friend said to me, be kind to yourself x
Hi there. I understand how you must be feeling. I am also struggling with brain fog too. It so scary. I hope it gets better for you. Im thinkinthinking about tryintrying hrt patches advised by my gp. I really hope for some improvement. Take care.
thanks for your reply, I think out of all the symptoms it’s the brain fog that gets me the most. It’s frightening! I don’t feel in control as well as feeling tired all the time! I’m going to try Valerian tablets that I’ve ordered to see if they help with sleeping. A friend said Hrt patches worked really well for her. You take care too x
I have been feeling like this for quite a few years but thought it was just me . Recently I found a group at work that was set up by colleagues going through the menopause & I thought that I would have a look .
Reading about what other people were saying meant me realise that my symptoms of brain fog, insomnia, joint pain & hot flushes meant I was perimenopausal .
I finally decided to try & speak to my GP as I was feeling like my work was being to suffer.
I then had a telephone appointment with my gp on Wednesday & she has prescribed me two pumps of oestrogen & Utrogestan 100 tablets.
After 1 day I have been sleeping better , have had less hot flushes & less joint pain.
Maybe try & speak to your GP ?
Thanks for your comments 😊 I went to see the doctor this week I’ve complications from having my last mirena coil removed with bleeding that’s she’s looking into. I burst into tears when I was there and found it a relief to talk to someone about the anxiety, brain fog, joint pain, no sleep!! and more. I’ve to go back on the 10th of November I’m on Hrt but this one is obviously not suiting me so hopefully I’ll get something that will. My doctor was a young trainee and very nice I was warning her what she had coming in twenty years time😅 as I said to her it’s our age group now that are talking about it because our mothers didn’t, as it was just suffered in silence in those days, thankfully not now. It’s the facial hair I wish I’d been told about thankfully I’m blonde and it’s a bit more forgiving in between waxing 🙄 you’re so lucky to have the support at work. I mainly have men in my life at work plus my husband and two sons. My friends around me aren’t suffering with the menopause as badly as I am. take care x
there can be various causes of brain fog. One can be low vitamin b12. I went through a terrible time with it and was very scared to even drive. One day I wasn't sure I was going to make it home from work safely. As a vegetarian, I knew that B12 could potentially be low. I had it tested and it was very low. Went on B12 vitamins and within a couple of weeks noticed a big difference. Just one thought. Brain fog also goes with menopause. Sometimes even if we are getting enough food for B12 our absorption of it is not good. Anyway just a suggestion but you might want to get some blood work done. On the other hand, B12 is very easy to access and is water soluble.
thanks for your message 😊 I’m actually on a course of B12 through the doctor at the moment since about June, I was seemingly very low. I get tested now and then because of a bowel condition I have. It might be worth asking if my level has gone up ,I’ve got 6 months worth to take.
