I started menopause when I had the onset of Cerebellar Ataxia. This was many years ago, but I well recall how confused I was at the time. Perimenopause is confusing enough without adding other symptoms that just don’t make sense.I halfheartedly tried HRT, but didn’t take it for very long. On the whole I think the biggest problems were mood swings and very heavy periods. My final period was when I was 54.

They're my two main issues. Sadness & heavy periods. I feel so gloomy sometimes I don't know what to do .

😕 I empathise with you, for me it was an awful time...I was worn down all round, misdiagnosed (not due to menopause), eventually properly diagnosed in 2011, and I had a course of antidepressants..
