I am 60 this month. Had a menopause very late peri started 57 and only fairly recently have l gone a year with no periods.

I have a prolaspe only happened since menopause. Waiting to see a gynecologist. I wear a pessary ring now. I have had bowel issues with the prolaspe. I take vagifem and cosmocol one sachet a day for bowels.

Recently everyday I'm aching not sleeping at night waking up with a feeling of rushing throughout my body tingling sensations warmth and headache and stomach ache. I get red face and neck and feel hot exactly when l dont want to such as speaking to to someone about something important when normally l used to be more confident. My hubby isn't happy as he is awake too so too tired for his work. I dont feel well enough for sex anymore only rarely as often uncomfortable. I feel I'm a burden l have to sit down evenings or I'm uncomfortable. l can still go out as long as l dont have to stand all evening. I go swimming now once a week as its horizontal exercise. I wasnt going to go on HRT but l feel dreadful most of the time. I'm do fed up with all this and feeling really old.

Should l try HRT?

Hi poppycat999 hope you well. Ive been on hrt since a full hysterectomy at age 42 i now 58. Went off it for about 6 months last year but regretted it because of symptoms like yours so went straight back on it. Try it and if it doesnt suit stop taking it. Think you will be suprised how it helps. It saved my marriage!

Thankyou Giggy63 I have just bought some menopace going to try it. I have an appointment with doctor this month for ring check. I think I'm going to ask about HRT. Bit worried as 60 this month. Are you going to stop taking it soon? or continue? I worry about what happens when you stop if you take it. Yes, l can well believe it saved your marriage. l know what you mean. I actually feel sorry for my hubby I'm just an annoying nuisance. I'm still waiting to be seen by a gynecologist! I cant work l feel too bad. Are you working? The prolaspe is getting me down too. Trying biofeedback for pelvic floor. l can only feel probe on one side. Think it's the wrong shape. Cant feel any lift feelings so upset about that too.

I shall stay on it as long as possible. Its only a small risk which i am willing to take! So fed up with my prolapse too its really geting me dwn. I do work as a cleaner twice a week. Ime thinking of having the operation cus not even 60 yet and dont want to carry on like this. Think the ring doesnt work because theres nothing to hold it after hysterectomy and was told the only other option is surgery but i so frightened!

If you do eventually decide on any surgery dont let them use the tension free vaginal tape TVT It's made of the same terrible mesh that can erode into you and cause terrible pain.

Read up on "Sling the mesh" from other ladies experiences trying to claim compensation.

I will listen to what they say when l eventually get to see a gynecologist but hoping that l don't need surgery. It is absolutely terrifying as I've read within 5 years of an op you often need more ops. I did read without a uterus it's harder to keep a ring pessary in . I think theres other types of pessaries available for ladies without a uterus to try.

It's nice to be able to message another woman and be a bit anonymous as l dont want too many friends knowing.

Yes theres a shelf pessary but you can only have it if your not sexually active. Only been married for 10yrs so thats not an option!. Judt dont think i can put up with this for the rest of my life. So fed up with trying to decide what to do.

Hi sorry your suffering, I suffer with the aching and ot does get me down also the hot flushes are quite something to deal with.I have started taking menopause support by A vogel. They are definitely helping with the hot flashes but need to give them longer to see how they work on my joint pain. They are all natural , no nasties in them . I hope you find some relief.
