Hello, Im 55 and having menopausal symptoms of persistent and very regular hot flushes, inability to sleep, anxiety, itchy skin and lots of aches and pains. I also have early onset genetically caused Heart disease. Because of this my GP wont prescribe HRT but instead has referred me to the Menopause Clinic but advised it could be at least 3 months before I see anybody. He said this is specifically because of my heart disease, even though taking HRT before the age of 60 is beneficial for heart disease!
So, as it seems I'll have to wait at least 3 months to see a specialist and hopefully eventually get some HRT, can anybody recommend any natural remedies or personally tried and tested methods to help relieve symptoms - particularly the hot flushes?
Thanks in advance ☺

Sage tablets are good for hot flushes better if you get a three for two deal in a chemist as bottles are usually 30 tablets snd it’s once a day, and you need at least 3 moths to see if they help and it’s a little easier on your purse!
I have had some luck using soy Isoflavon tablets specifically made for menopausal hot flashes . Unfortunately my symptoms worsened and my Dr. finally agreed to put me on HRT which was the only treatment that helped me. I have talked to other woman who have tried SSRI medication to decrease their hot flashes as well. Many Dr.’s are very reluctant to prescribe HRT particularly “older”physicians who are not current on recent research studies. Hang in there and best of luck !
Why dontnu have a look at the Balance menopause website and the balamce app. Also look on Spotify for D Newsoms blog. She has a wealth of information and education packs and courses for GPs who have outdated attitudes to HRT. When we are ovulating does any doctor suggest we shd be sterilised in case we get breast cancer or heart disease? Hrt is only replacing your own hormones which u r deficient in. It protects against osteoporosis, dementia, muscle loss, hair loss and heart disease. My life has been given back to me since i started taking it.
