Any advice welcome

Hi everyone I am going through the menopause, I had an ankle operation in March since then I was experiencing frequent burping, nausea and diarrhoea also for a while, I was getting hot flushes not too bad. The doctors thought there was something wrong with my digestive system. I had a CT scan and cameras both ends all results came back normal. I did start to feel a bit better but it’s all flared up again and when I get the hot flushes they’re extreme now. I did notice on google that the menopause can play havoc with your digestive system, I’m looking to see if it could be and if anyone has experienced similar problems.

Hi Weebee_9, Yes I have digestive issues too, perimenopause for at least 5 years now, hot flushes too, Im taking Kefir and find it does help, but can't take a large dose as it has hystamine in it and that kills my sinus. The Kefir is a probiotic, lots of good bacteria for the gut. I also chew ginger for the indigestion. Yes the menopause has a lot to answer for.

Hi thank you for your reply, I will have a look into them both, the worst symptom I have is the nausea all the time.

Ginger was always recomended for pregnant women for morning sickness, I used to eat it alot due to hormonal migraines that used to make me sick. Try a tea with it in like ginger and lemon , hope you find some relief x

Hi, I can say that it has for me. I have been post menopausal for 7 yrs now still get the odd hot flush both night and day and recently my habits bowel habits have changed to having almost diarrhea most mornings. My diet is good so without any other symptoms can only put it down to menopause. They don't mention stuff like that in the small print!! Lots of water, wholegrain, live yogurt etc is meant to help.

Yep. Pretty much constant heartburn & indigestion. I’ve always suffered from it a bit but it’s definitely got worse. I get through bottles of Gaviscon.
