please give me suggestions regarding meningitis which my friend at the point of time is going through.

Ria Kohli, a 17 year old school student has fallen severely ill due to sudden attack of meningitis.

This fatal illness had got intrenched into her body and is struggling to gain mastery over the victim. She has been hospitalised and is going under severe medication of Pan, Vamonycin, Ceftiaxone, Acyclonir, Albumin, Lasix, Pause, Decadron, Mannitol, Meronem, Vit K and Sol Medrol but her body has not yet responded to the treatment which is being catered to her. At present she is admitted to The CMRI Hospital. She is in Coma since last 7 days. She has been kept under observation but any sign of improvement has not been found yet.

Anybody willing to help this 17 year old girl can give their suggestions by forwarding their own opinion. Anyone can send their opinion regarding any further medication after consulting a qualified doctor who has dealt with cases of severe meningitis.

Please help the girl.

Has she been seen by a neurologist?

Yes a topmost neurologist of our state.

Has she had any MRI or CAT scanning?

no she could not have an MRI because she is under ventilation and her heart rate is not being stable and the CT scan has shown that she is having some infection in her brain.

I just know that I ,too was in a coma for 5 days and they air ambulanced me to a bigger center and they burred holes in my head to drain the infection. They took a catheter bag and a half of fluid from my brain and then I started to rally. I was on a broad spectrum antibiotic for weeks. My CAT scan showed a hemorrhage of my brain out through my skull. I had had the infection for a long time and it was all trough the bone behind my eyes. They had to go back up trough my nose to replace the brain and patch the bone with cartilage from my leg. You have my prayers.

Thanks. Here the doctor has said dat her brain has been coned and they are unable to detect the nature of the virus in her brain. She has not responded to any medicine yet. Is some other method or technique possible?
