Im looking for some support and as much information as possible of my 10 years old sister who is at the moment in St.Vincent General Hospital in Cebu City, Philippines. At the moment my sister is being treated for TB Meningitis but not yet been confirmed as the cause.

My sister has now been in hospital for almost two weeks . Until now she had not yet wake up since December 26,2012. They are now treating her for TB Meningitis. She has had a shunt inserted and fluid removed from her brain as well as a lumber puncture and various ct scans. No one from the hospital have actually sat with us as a family and explained fully what is going on with my sister. I am just looking to find out more information and trying to get as much support for my sister and my family, as I just want to get my sister back to her normal self as a child, go to school, play and everything that she wants to do. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Also i dont know if its possible for you to call there 24 hr help line and chat to some one who will be able to give you a lot more help

i please never forget the world gets smaller every day and this disease is world wide and we are all fighting it

Yeah, its not really a good time and I really miss my one and only sister. I can't help but cry looking at her situation. My heart breaks ;(

my sister died last Jnauary 15 ;( i'm hurt, brokenhearted , I don't know, I miss my one and only sister ;( I wish I could have done something or even sacrifice my life just to make her alive.

Hi denyang, the same as above hun. Please try and get intouch with the trust as hopefully they will be able to help with your questions. Thinking of you all at this time. Xx have you sat down with your parents and talked to them? Perhaps if you can share your concerns they may be able to ask the hospital for more information on your sister? It's a very tricky illness and everybody's personal reaction is different as to their well-being. We will all be sending her our love and warm healing vibes and to you guys also. Xx Xx

Thank you so much for your response.. Yes, I had talked to my parents and emotionally, financially we are so down. As suggested by the doctor again, She had her ct scan result and they said she has still hydrocephalus.. there are rapid loss of some brain functions due to lack of blood supply in her brain(stroke) .. I don't know.. Is there still a chance that she would recover? The doctor said she had to be operated permanently (VP Shunt).. ;(

i am so sorry to hear about your sister, and what you are going threw, lets hope this site helps you, remember to talk open to your family how you feel, allow your self to cry, but you must talk open, as you to are going threw so much, thou your doctor has been open, remember there is always hope, and i wish you and your family all the warmest regards

Thank you, it's really a hard time for us now, especially for my sister, every time I whisper into her ears, she tries to hold my hand and cry, ;( I will never lose hope that in time she would really recover.

Hello,I was just scrolling through the site and wonder how your sister is doing?You say you talk to her and I wanted to say that is wonderful.When I was in a coma(only 9days) I could hear and it was so comforting to hear voicesHowver some people didnt say a thing and I was really worried as I thought my Mum wasnt there!.Another thing that one of the nurses did was to stroke my forhead and hands and it was so comforting and soothing.These are the few pleasant memories I have of ITU.

I do hope and pray that your sis is still fighting .Remember we are all here to support you.

You did everything you could have done to make your sisters last days ones of love and peace.Please dont blame yourself,but feel free to share anything here. I am so so sorry to hear your sister passed away, you have been so very strong, and i know all of us on this site, feel so very proud of you, you was a wonderful sister and you did all that you could, my grand mother used to say, ones that pass away are needed to be angles to look over others, so i feel she will be looking over you, and will be so proud to watch you grow up to be a wonderful young lady.

I know it is so hard for you darling, but all she needed to know is that you loved her and we know you did and she knew, that's all a person needs to know. Be strong my little one, and member we are all here for you, be strong and smile when you think of her, as i know she is looking down on you with a big smile to know her sister loved her so much
