Hi , new to group. I had viral meningitis about 8 years ago , was left with Tachycardia and high blood pressure. Which is well controlled, and I am told did not damage my heart. Other than that, made a full recovery.. more recently have been experiencing muscle pain, bursitis, total fatigue, inability to walk well because of hip and groin pain, difficulty doing stairs, ... have a small labral tear in my right hip but it shouldn’t be causing such wide spread pain and fatigue.. Self researching and wondered if fibromyalgia maybe something I am struggling with. It ticks so many boxes...
could my VM have anything to do with my recent symptoms. ?
Thanks in advance

I don't have an answer here, but I think it's important to state whether this all came on very suddenly or not. Also, at least one of my doctors has said that fibromyalgia is sort of a catch-all term for a set of symptoms and that it's important to get to the underlying cause of why you're in pain. In my case, aside from VM, I later had mold and water damage in my house which caused terrible, terrible body aches. Make sure you don't have this. My symptoms started subsiding when I went away, and this is what clued me into the fact that my house was making me sick. Not trying to make you paranoid. Just sharing my experience.
recovered well from VM.. I think ( what I believe to be fibromyalgia symptoms) started about a year to a year and a half ago.. but recent dx of right hip labral
tear, bursitis, tendinitis, are new, very painful and affecting how I live my life, very active ,55 year old female nurse, who right now, had trouble getting into Walmart to get milk, too much walking, too much pain
It sounds like you might have more than one problem. I'm not sure if the VM could have been a factor. Sorry. I had trouble walking for a while and was easily dismissed. Make sure you find a good doctor who listens to you. I hope you find some answers.
I have pain in both arms which doctor thinks could be fibromyalgia, I had a blood test this morning which should confirm it one way or another. The treatment seems to be steroids. Take care, love Lizzy xx
