Meningitis - ceftriaxone side effects

I had was diagnosed with meningitis 6 weeks ago. They couldn’t tell if it was viral or bacterial as I had, had too many antibiotics for a lumbar puncture. I was treated for bacterial anyway with ceftriaxone through IV.

I am now SUPER tired and have awful acid reflux which I’m in tablets for but the weirdest thing is that my hair has basically died at the ends & gone very dry. I’m going to have to have a couple of inches cut off & I only got it cut 2 months ago. It’s not major but has anyone else had this?

Thank you!

I got reflux from pregnozone lost appetite then got dysphasia I suggest you ask doctor for anti acids before it advances

I, too, have "crispy hair ends" like dry kindling. Hadn't ascribed it to ceftriaxone--or any other antibiotic or antiviral--but I didn't have it prior to hospitalization and treatment for bacterial meningitis. If anything, I blamed it on blood chemistry being out of whack at the same time, although T-SHIRT was fine. Finally chopped off four inches in December, but now have more crispy kindling.

Hadn't thought of bringing this to neuro's or ENT's attention, but now I wonder...Granted, it's not a biggie, just one of those insult on top of injury things.
