Anyone in Northern Ireland tried alternative therapies for VM? Looking for cranial osteopaths, acupuncturist, cranio sacral therapist, reflexology recommendations please. I've had acupuncture for a sports shoulder injury before by a physio I trust, 3 sessions and was pain free but unfortunately she isn't trained for VM.

I have tried acupuncture in my ears point zero and the back of the ear for headaches. Total 18 in each. It brings the pain down to 6 which is my normal since 2 years ago. I receive Botox every 10 weeks, only last 8 weeks once again brings the pain down to a 7, still have bad days can’t get out bed. I’m on a lot of medication. Even rehabilitation for my right side of my body to regain neurological connection. I also get occipital nerve blocks every two months it last 3 hours but it supposed to last 12. None of these stop seizures that I have 5-6 times a day. I’ve also lost hearing in my right ear doctors give me Zofran to help with vertigo. Now pain free that’s hard to achieve after something like VM comes into your life. I will say medical marijuana is something I’m looking into because taking 18 pills a day with no relief that’s the road I’m done taking because the side effects like kidney stones and memory loss doesn’t help my situation with pain. I am a believer in trying everything so ask your acupuncturist for pain protocol for your ears and make sure it’s tge gold plated so you can recharge them on bad days.
Omg you need relief much more than I do, you're suffering is horrendous. Yes go for any treatment if it helps. I stopped taking the anti depressants because they were making me feel worse so I'm only on Naproxen & paracetamol compared to your 18.
Thanks for replying, I do hope you get some relief somehow soon.
All the very best.
Please give my daughter's story a read. These alternative therapies really work! Good luck with finding ones to suit you xx

Many thanks for your reply. Your daughter's story encouraged me to try the treatments & Meningitis Now are going to fund them which is amazing. Having a scan tomorrow so that's the start of it!
Wow I'm so glad and thrilled you are getting help. May Rosie and I wish you all the best! Rosies VM horror occurred in November 2015. She is today all ok and her old self again. There is light at the end of the tunnel. You need to eat healthily and maybe take a good all round multivitamin and mineral tablet everyday. Its important to stay strong and lay off junk food as much as poss. Xx
I had the daith peirced in my ear 8 weeks after I came out of hospital. It is an acupuncture point to relieve the pain in your head. I felt instant relief when it was done. It took a while to heal because it’s pure cartilage but it helped no end. It’s recommended for migraines and as I had a constant one since having VM I was literally at the point where I was willing to try anything and I’m glad that I did. I’ve had reflexology which has helped with my nerves being knotted and I’ve had reiki treatment for my general emotional well-being which has helped. The reiki therapist felt a lot of pressure around my head when she was doing it. Completely changing my diet is my lifeline though and that helps my pain and fatigue everyday.
Thanks for the reply. The daith piercing sounds harsh but if someone offers a solution when you're in pain, you take anything, glad it was worth it. The help from reflexology & reiki is also helpful.
I've cut out caffeine, sugar and alcohol from my diet. I already was dairy free and healthy & now take omega 3 and additional vitamins to support my liver. Are there any other diet suggestions you'd recommend?
Thanks.
