Sometimes it takes up to a year to get over it just depends how bad the bout is, and probably how quick you get treatment, personally I go into hospital the day I get it as I have the one that can virtually kill me if not treated quickly, they know what to do and I get put thru the process quickly now, but I do take up to a year afterwards to really feel that im totally over it ... as the Neurosurgeon told me rest never push yourself, and for god sakes don't stress as these things can easily bring it on .... goodluck with yours be strong <3

Months. Mine did not actually go away until my neurologist prescribed a steroid. He held off for months because they are dangerous. But my cognition started to REALLY slip, and my symptoms weren't improving, so he finally decided the swelling was more dangerous than the steroid.

I did have some pretty bad side effects, such as tremors, intestinal bleeding, insomnia, and other stuff. I was on the steroid for 4-5 weeks, and the brain symptoms that were fixed did not come back after. The steroid side effects were gone within days of finishing the prescription.

I still have brain damage I'm dealing with, but it's neural damage, not swelling anymore. It is soooo much better now. I'm still limited in what I can do, but I'm far less miserable while I don't do it. 😉

Hi there, please give my daughter's story a read on this site. Rosie S's Story. Here lies sugnificant success (from what we know so far), for complete recovery from VM!

She suffered for near on two years before discovering meningitis now, subsequently trying cranial massage by visiting an independant cranial osteopath in her area.

All the symptoms you are experiencing are pretty much similar to what she suffered. It seems the key, and recent breakthrough, is releasing the spinal fluid which VM leaves a blockage for...and enabling it to flow again through your body, particularly your head.

There are some on this sight who have now given it a go after reading about it, and after just a couple of sessions, felt considerable relief.

I the last few days Rosie and I have been contacted by the media, news papers and radio to tell our story of this potential breakthrough!

We now feel we want to help as many poor people who have suffered this dreadful illness for which before now seemed there was no light at the end of the tunnel.

Good luck and please keep posed how you get on if you try this amazing treatment. Rosie coupled this with acupuncture, having alternate treatments once a week, now a couple of months in. Xx
