Tb meningitis

Hi, I had TB meningitis in 2008 but was not physically affected in any other part of my body other than my brain. Being in hospital for 4 months meant that my body muscle wasted away but returned over the months after returning from hospital.
I have been left with cognitive impairment though.
Hi. I haven't had TB meningitis either but regardless of the strain of meningitis some of the after effects can be similar although never exactly the same as which after effects tend to be more unique depending on the circumstances of the illness. Quiet a few people on here have been left with balance problems and I include myself with that difficulty. Mine is due to my Higher Vestibular Balance being damaged. But I do not suffer numbness in my legs. Perhaps your GP would be able to examine you re your walking gait and test your nerve receptor responses in your legs to see if you need further investigation? It is not unusual for some post meningitis problems to not become apparent for a few months after the illness and sometimes longer because if it is not an obvious physical disability it is often thought just to be weakness post illness and thought that it will recover.
Like mads I have sustained the frontal brain injury causing dysexecutive syndrome.
Best wishes
Hi I had TB meningitis and it is good to hear you walking as i couldn't walk for the past two years.
