I am reading a book about an eminent Neurologist who lectured at Harvard. He got E. coli Bacterial Menigitus and was in a coma for 7 days and had an interesting experience.
He describes his meningitus from a Neurologists stand point and from a patient who went on an incredible journey.
The book is:

Thank you for the book info. I have just ordered a new copy on Ebay (cheapest) but also found it on Amazon. I have read 2 other autobiography books about acquired brain injury but this will be the first about someone who has actually had Meningitis. I look forward to reading it.
This doesnt suprise me at all. I have read of many people that have had a glimpse of heaven when having died on the operating table. I am a Christian so i suppose this is why i find it so believable. I read a book recently of a young boy of four whom died in hospital due to a burst appendix. It was while they were working to save him, ( he had died on the operating table ) that he went to heaven and sat with Jesus. This young boy simply couldnt have imagined, or made up some of the stories that he told his parents. He even told of having seen Poppy, his Grandfather and having talked to him. Its so beautiful this story, so when i find the book i will put it on here for you to look up.
Have also read this book ! Cant remember title but will make a note to find it ! Really interesting as such a young child could not have made these experiences up.
Hi - I have recently read this book also - a fascinating account of near death experience.I also had an out of body/near death experience, though not the same, but it was really interesting.I did put a question out a while back re this and had a personal reply form a lovely forum member,as well as a few others who had similar experiences.
It is a fairly new book, but should be widely available as there has been a lot of publicity.I have it on kindle.
Hi everyone, I would love to read that book too, if anyone has the title (about the young boy) and will also get a copy of the Proof of Heaven too. Its always inspiring to read these stories I think, there was a time when I couldnt read or concentrate long enough to read, thank goodness those days are over and I can enjoy a good book again, its a blessing in itself. I imagine most of you will have read (I think its called) The six people you meet in heaven, the authors name began with M, but I have forgotten who it is, he also wrote Tuesdays with Morrie.. it was a great book I think.
Just in this thank God for mercies phase I am visiting Vancouver Island (I used to live in Vancouver 18 years ago) and its so beautiful here, so good for the soul. I still dont have my old energy, but enough for the day and this day I am going to kayak for 2 hours.. what a thrill to do some of these things again after such an awful 4 years. I pray and hope that everyone gets to do something they dreamed of at sometime and are well enough to enljoy it, however small the goal - mine was a pretty big goal I know, but I made it.... yippee.
PS thanks (I think it was daffodil) about the Vick trick... I have been using it whenever my sinuses (I am sure its not my sinsuses but it certainly feels as though it is) are bothering me, which is a lot... just helps for some crazy reason. You are a gem.
