Hello I was diagnosed with an intraosseous meningioma last October. I had no side effects just a lump appeared behind my right ear. I was given the option of watch and wait or surgery and due to previous breast cancer history I eventually opted for surgery to get the confirmation it was benign - which it was thankfully. I had to have a lot of the bone removed and now have a titanium mess, the op in January was successful but I have been left with a pseudomeningocele. My consultant hopes it will heal itself in time but there are other options such as a VP shunt. I have read that if I was to have this I would not get my driving licence back ever - can anyone confirm this or not. Also if anyone has any tips on how live day to day with this condition it would be really useful as it does restrict the things I can do.
I know it has only been 3 1/2 months since my op and acknowledge that all things considered I am doing remarkably well after major surgery but I do find it particularly frustrating as I had no systems before and now have this complication but hopefully it is temporary and I do have the reassurance that it is benign.

I can understand your frustration. I had my surgery 9 weeks ago and have been left with one leg that doesn't work properly. I have very poor balance now and find walking difficult and tiring. My meningioma was also benign so, as you say, at least that was one bit of good news. I hope you continue to improve - and without your operation I expect you would have had symptoms at some point.
Thank you for reply and yes I suspect you are correct, I know I am very lucky and have to be patient and learn to adapt to any complications. I am sorry to hear about your poor balance and I hope it improves as you recuperate.
