Residential term time college for my autistic sons

I have 2 severely autistic sons that are going into residential term time college for 38 weeks. They will be living home for 14 weeks during the holidays.

Their care will be funded by the Social Services and I’m wondering if all their PIP and UC will be taken away.

I don’t know how I will be able to afford to look after them , buy their clothes and other essentials if their payments are stopped.

Can someone share their experiences with me?

You need to let DWP know when they start college and PIP will be paid for 28 days after, then the Care component is suspended for the weeks they are at college and you can claim for the weeks they are at home. It’s just a phone call to let DWP the dates they are home but I think it has to be after not before. My son is still on ESA and that was paid throughout but not sure if UC works the same. I would phone to report the change and they will then advise,
