Looking for voluntary work

I am a general nurse working with children and adults with autism, learning disabilities and mental health concerns. I am trying to find a volunteer placement for a young man who has recently moved to Hereford. He enjoyed working on a farm before coming to Hereford, attended 5 days a week and found it increased his self esteem enormously. He is 24 years old with autism, OCD, Mental health concerns and attachment disorder.

He would attend the placement with a support worker.

Hello

This sounds like a wonderful idea.

I know you are looking for volunteering but it may be worth getting in touch with our employment team on employment.support@mencap.org.uk to see if they know of anything suitable near Hereford.

Here is a link to the section on the website about it - mencap.org.uk/advice-and-su...

Best wishes

Sarah

My daughter helped at Wessington Court Farm but this was part of course at National Star College, Hereford, and previously at Orchard Trust in Glos. The City Farm at St. James' in Gloucester have people but may be waiting list. Let me know what you discover.
