A number of our members at Saffron Walden Mencap who are under 50 but have mild or moderate learning disabilities do not have a date yet for vaccination. In light of the recent campaign by Edel Harris who can I contact on their behalf to speed it for them. As local surgeries are welcoming any questions.

Hello Paddy11
If they have a mild/moderate learning disability they may not be in group 6. This would mean that they are not prioritised for the vaccine at all. Sadly, this is why Mencap has needed to campaign about this.
I would be worth asking at GP surgeries to see what they say, and asking if there is any flexibility.
It isn't too late to support our campaign about this. There is more information here - mencap.org.uk/get-involved/...
We are still hoping for a change in policy for this. There is a lot of interest in the news about this over the last week about this.
Best wishes
Sarah
