help for young father in custody proceedings and debt advice

hi im supporting a YP who is facing custody proceedings for his child. He also needs general and housing debt advice. Where can I signpost him or get him help?

We can't help with anything legal on here. Citizen's Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk/law-a... would be a good starting point for this. They will also know of other support that is available for debt.

Please also contact Mencap's helpline on 0808 808 1111 or via email:

helpline@mencap.org.uk

It would also be worth talking to the person's local authority to see what is available as it varies so much place to place.

Their bank may also be able to help them access debt advice.

I wish you the best with this. I will probably be a matter of having a good talk with someone as these things can get very complicated.
