Well my nieces registered doctors surgery know perfectly well that she has severe and complex learning disabilities, whilst there are others within her close family that have learning disabilities and difficulties. However, just because they have learning disabilities, it does not mean they have poor mental health, which of course anyone can get at any point in their life, thus we are all human. But my niece would be seen by some people as "not right", simply because her communication and behaviour can be odd, this may also be due to her being two months premature, as well as the nurses losing her heart beat for over two minutes. The problem we have, is a family member has been taken away, with no explanation, which is painful enough, but worse as we know our family member loves her family, loves her home, and struggles to communicate, and will trust those she's with, who it seems may be fuelling what she is apparently saying. This is enough to drive her family to poor mental health, but we are trying to stay strong, but yes, very very upset and angry. We do not deserve to be treated this way. I'm sorry if you say you did not get support when you needed it.
