Hi everyone who is worried about registering for extra help during the coronavisus outbreak because you can't find your conditions or Disabilities on the link kindly provided by Sarah of Mencap. I recieved this text this morning as I wasn't sure if I was on the government list but I hope that this will help you get the help that you need at this stressful time. GOV.UK coronavirus support: You registered as clinically extremely vulnerable, but had not received a letter from the NHS to confirm this. We'll share your details with the NHS.

If the NHS defines you as clinically extremely vulnerable, the NHS will contact you. Your GP will be informed.

If you told us you need help getting food and supplies, but you are not on the clinically extremely vulnerable list, we'll share your details with supermarkets. They may be able to help.

If you need support urgently, please contact your local authority.

I have tried to access this site. I am 82, sole carer for my 60 year old daughter who has a SLD, mobility and multiple health problems. I am unable to leave her with anyone, I am unable to get to the shops, I am unable to get a slot for home delivery of provisions. It seems that our situation is not considered serious enough to warrant any help.

Thank you for your message go to the website that sarah of Mencap suggests and click on the link and Just say yes to the question either for your Daughter or yourself as you yourself is classed as high risk person because of your age not being rude when I mention your age. I must say that you are doing well if you care for your 60 year old daughter. I take my hat of to you as not many people who are at your age can do what you do for your Daughter I hope that when I get to your age In 17years time. That I can still care for my 20 year old son. But that's a other matter. But I am sure that if you register yourself because of age you will get your delivery started again. It takes about a week to 10days before you are added to the system. But if register with the supermarket that you use the most for your deliveries then you will be added to their priority customer list because of your age. As people who are over 70 have to stay at home and not go out. Because of the coronavisus outbreak. You take good care of yourselves and stay safe always ok. Peter

On none of either the supermarket websites or on the government/nhs website that I have seen does it ask your age/dob. The vulnerable registration website tells me that neither myself or my daughter come under this category. Most of the supermarket websites telephone helplines are unavailable, or you must hang on for a considerable length of time, which I am unable to do. We WILL manage, however, others in my situation will not.

As for the question of age, I am-

Fit (I can still touch my toes with the palm of my hand -knees straight).

Run up stairs-if necessary.

Laugh out loud, mainly at myself

Resourceful. I WILL find a way to deal with the problems.

Age is a number, a state of mind. I stopped counting at 46.

Many thanks for your message. Wow you put me to shame if you can do all those things. What's your secret in keeping so active! To tell you the truth forgetmeknot I am very concerned that you are having difficulties in registering on the websites for help during the coronavisus lockdown. Can I ask you do you shop at Sainsbury's supermarket online before the lockdown started? Do you have a nactor card if you have the number that I will give you later is for priority customer shopping services at Sainsbury's ok the phone number will ask you for some personal details like your Date of Birth and do you have your last online shopping order reference number if you haven't just answer no same with the nactor card if you haven't got one. This.way they will check your age with the government database and they will get our location from the government and about 24 to 48 hours you will receive a text message from Sainsbury's saying that you have been successful in registering as a priority customer at Sainsburys then you will be able to place an order on line and get it delivered at a time to suit you. But you will be only able to book one slot per 7 days. And if you get subistates in your order the driver isn't allowed to take them back to the store if you don't want them plus they don't put them in carrier bags anymore so have plenty of bags at the door so that you can put your shopping in ok.

Like I say I am concerned that you cant seem to get what your entitled to during this time. It's grossly unfair to you. Also do you know that you yourself can get a free TV licence as well? I will be in touch soon with the Sainsbury's phone number and the number is for priority customers only. I wish I could send it to you privately in a message I will also find out about this as well. In case your Daughter can't wish you a Happy Mother's day which was on the 22nd of March I would like to wish you a belated HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY on behalf of your Daughter . Thank you so very much for your lovely message. I have not registered with Sainsburys until recently, consequently, I have no history with them, although I do shop there and have the nectar card. I usually use Tesco and they have no "slots " for the foreseeable future.

I am fortunate to live in a caring community, although my immediate neighbours are all in the same boat as we are. However, we will manage.

I am anything but amazing. I am lucky though, It's all in the genes. I did yoga with my fantastic aunt when she was 86, that was after picking the plums so that she could make plum brandy.

I have to be positive, to make sure my precious, beautiful Kathryn has the best and fullest life possible whilst I am able to. Each morning, when she wakes and smiles at me and tells me that she loves me, well, every day is Mothers day.

Here are few other ideas:

Please get in touch with your local council so that they know about your situation. Council offices are closed at the moment, but most emails and phone lines should still be being answered.

Do you know anyone else (friends, family, neighbours) who could do shopping for you? Or do you have an Age Uk near where you live? If so give them a call. There may be local community schemes where people will do shopping for you.

Another idea is to get in touch with your local carers centre and see if they can help. Again, there is some good information for carers on the Carers UK website - carersuk.org/help-and-advic...
