Hi guys, hope everyone is okay. Just to update for now. Ryan is finished with his 3 session radiation treatment on his elbow met. According to the PET he just got, it is the only spot currently. He had radiation, Keytruda, and zometa all in one day. It whipped his behind. He had fevers for two days at night and in the morning. Made his whole body ache. Zometa is a drug they use to help bones not be brittle due to bone mets. First time he ever had it - and coupled with other treatments as well. Brutal. But fevers have subsided and he is coming back from it. Slowly but surely. We are moving into a New town home on the 1st so we have some moving to do this weekend! Snow is hitting MD for the first time in a long time. (Decent snow fall rather). Anyway - quick update. If anyone has any experience with Zometa I would love to hear it. This is new to us.
Love from us! Xoxo

Of course y’all are moving on top of a triple whammy treatment! Put on your Superman capes and tights 👍🏼I’m also interested in hearing about Zometa. Sounds like having something to protect bone integrity makes sense. I’m going to go see if it’s in the same drug class as what my mom takes weekly to combat her low bone density.
Ok. It does look like zoned a is similar to drugs used for osteoporosis, but is a banging big dose given IV with metastatic bone involvement. Flu like side effects common. See notes about potential to interact with antivirals when his turn fir Covid vaccine comes up?Sounds like a brutal cocktail and Ryan is brave.
My son took Zometa. Too. Knocks him out every time like a mini day-old flu. Those symptoms are normal. It would have been nice to have been warned about it beforehand though.
