Ryan is safe and sound at home. We were just discussing how the nurses said that he recovered and started moving so fast. We figure it’s because the pain he was in was far worse than the pain that came from the surgery. Hard to believe. He is currently eating a grilled cheese with turkey and tomato soup! No fiber diet for a week. Then will slowly introduce a regular diet so his gut can catch up. I do believe the oncologist said that he will continue on Keytruda. She sent his pathology that by the way came back positive for melanoma. (Kinda grateful? Only because I was afraid of a second cancer) and she is now sending it out to Foundation One to see if there are any new mutations to work with. Will know those results in a week or two. He will still be healing and we will have time to decide the best treatment path. He has responded so good to Keytruda - we just had some rogue mets who didn’t wanna play ball. So we are hopeful this immunotherapy is still the key for now. But always up for other options. We are super excited to be in our own bed! Thank you all for kind words. Still and always will be grateful for you beautiful people and this forum. I think this may have been a blessing in complete and utter disguise. Had it not been an emergent life or death situation - I don’t think they would have removed it.. and this picture may have looked completely different. We are essentially on a clean(ish) slate. Ahh.. brain.. so.. tired..
Love you all xoxo
