Breathing problems

Hi, I've got CFS and have been having breathing problems for past 19 days. I had A7 day course of antibiotics, then a gap but last week more antibiotics, steroids and an asthma pump although I don't have asthma. The breathing was definitely improving and I took the last if the meds at 9 this morning. As the day has worn on my breathing has gradually got worse. Awaiting results of a chest x-rayMy question is is this caused by the CFS or do I just need yet more meds.

Have a look at the relationship between gut health and CF S . Ask your pharmacist to recommend a good pre- and pro-biotic if you're not already taking one. It may not make you better, but it could help stopping you getting worse.I hope this helps.

I'll try that thank you. I've got some Kefir coming today so 🤞 I'll like it

Does the blue inhaler help your breathing? If so, it could be asthma. Asthma can develop at any age and we have had a lot of dry weather with high pollen count this year.

When we have cfs/me, with all of it’s oddities it is easy to put everything that goes wrong as just another oddity.

Either way it would be a good idea to have another chat with your GP.

I agree with Troilus, a good idea to check in with the gp again incase of stubborn infection. They can recognise different lung ailments via their stethoscopes. My asthma was diagnosed in my 50s.

Thank you all for your replies. I got back to GP who gave me more steroids, but different ones and am pleased to say that they worked as my breathing is now back to normal.
