It's my 2nd Runniversary and to celebrate I did a breezy 30 minute run and snapped these lovely snowdrops. So, wow, where did the time go? Like many, I wasn't a natural runner. Despite being quite fit and active, I could never get the hang of running. It was too exhausting, I got injured too often and really it wasn't my thing anyway. But here's the thing, hubby got into running during the pandemic (I tried and failed) and he became addicted, so I was curious, why was this? But time went by without any progress on my behalf. Then I found C25K and this wonderful community. And whilst getting through the initial programme did have it's setbacks, including an injury, I now knew why this was happening (mainly going too fast and insufficient strength/cross training exercises). Then came 5k and 10k all supported by the lovely folk here. I'm now addicted too, I always take running gear on my travels and have run in some wonderful places. I've also learnt to look after myself and my novice running body much more. Any niggle can quickly become a full blown disaster without time out to recover. There are also ups and downs in running fitness too, but when on top form goodness, that does feel good. So here's to another year of running. Will I aim for the next milestone? Maybe, maybe not. I realise I'm happy with what I do so there's no pressure. Happy running everyone πββ‘οΈπββοΈββ‘οΈ

Congratulations to you Sax64 on the occasion of your second running anniversary, lovely photo, so glad that you are still enjoying running with that 30 minutes run to celebrate.
Happy runniversary Sax64. You just do your thing. For me the extra distance and pace came out of βI fancy giving that a tryβ. I am still doing that almost 7 years on from when I started. I am happy to push myself, but it has to be enjoyable.
Ahh happy runniversary Sax64 (I still chuckle when my phone recognises that word with predictive text π ).
You sound like many of us. Reluctant folk who simply didnβt βgetβ running - oh, except when we did!
I agree with Beachcomber66 , it has to be fun. Milestones are there for the taking if you wish. If not, no matter. Keep doing what youβre doing, try to avoid the IC, and have a blast!
PS: thanks for the snowdrops. Spring might be making an appearance at long last. π
