Set out at 8am, a bit earlier than the billed time to avoid the worst of the heat...I really struggle much more when it's hot π₯΅
I felt pretty good setting out, better than the last 2 long runs and was hoping for a time of 1hr 10 and to run the whole thing.
It went well, I was lucky in that the 1st half was mostly shaded as the sun was still low enough that it was hidden behind the bushes and trees to my right...that really helped me get a good start. The next couple of km I had to slow right down on and off as it was a continuous elevation, but I managed it without walking so I was happy with that.
Once I got to 8k, I was tired but it was a mix of downhill and flat from there so I knew I could make it. I tried to pick up the pace and did a little, but not quite enough to finish in the 1hr 10...didn't miss it by much though and ran all the way so I got home very happy π
We won't mention the HR, though it is usually well into the 160s on my longer runs.
Thanks to Linda and the gang for once again getting me back to 10K, 1st one since last September coz life has a habit of getting in the way but I'm so pleased to be back there. So pleased in fact that I've ordered one of the new HU wooden medalsπ π

Congratulations to you Run46 on completing the HU 10K in rather warm conditions, good time as well, that's about the time I hope when I run it on Wednesday morning which will be my 50th 10K.
Thanks Stephen, and to you. Your time was impressive, even if you were hoping to do 10 miles...hope you weren't too disappointed having to take the sensible option!
This running lark though full of joy can be very frustrating. Good luck with sorting or at least stabilising your PF so you can get out for those longer runs π
Ahh, fabulous Run46. It was my first 10k in several months too - it's a very satisfying feeling isn't it. Really well done - especially the hot hills. 10 miles will be yours again very soon I'm sure πππ
