Well I didn't get blown away despite the winds best effort! The scenery was much better than I imagined infact it was actually quite pretty and some of it included trail which wasn't what I was expecting so that was a nice surprise. The wind wasn't a surprise as it was really strong when I arrived, but it would have been nice if it wasn't head on most of the way round!!

Id recently changed my watch to show kms not miles (which Id forgotten Id done) and then thought I'd done 5 miles when it was only 5kms!! πŸ˜‚ Had I looked at the actual time, I would of course realised that sadly wasnt the case!

Even though it was a head on wind, I felt I started strong but then the last 4km my legs just felt so heavy and and I was extremely hot, definately over layered again! (πŸ₯΅, when will I ever learn, dress for the 2nd km not the first!!) Whether or not I hadn't hydrated enough I don't know.

Anyway, I finished with a time of 52:47 which I would have been delighted with, but my watch only registered 9.62km, so can't really count that as my PB for a 10k 😬.

Thank You. I was quite pleased, but would have been really chuffed had my watch actually registered the full 10km. Think it must have been the trees, maybe blocked the GPS signal for a short while.

Thank you, just annoyed it was short of 10km, but I guess it happens.

That's fabulous! You may not be able to 'connt' it ss a PB, but knowing what you did, and against the wind at that, it will definitely help you to a PB next time. That's a ohenomenal pace, congratulations πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Just couldn't believe the strength of the wind, you know that feeling when it's straight at you and you find it hard to catch your breath and you feel you are being pushed back, so it was quite an effort, but there was one short bit that the wind eased off, so that was a bit of relief!

That’s a brilliant time, especially in that wind! It was very strong.

It’s weird the way some courses are short. It’s so annoying. In the past I use to run beyond the finish line just to make up the number πŸ˜‚

Great time, fab photo, sounds as if you enjoyed it. Well done! πŸ‘πŸ‘

I did think about continuing running to get it up to the 10km on my watch, but I'd put in such a sprint to get over the finish line I was shattered!!🀣

Well done for running in that wind Hedgehogs123 , It sounds like you really enjoyed it. I do get annoyed when the distance isn’t correct and have been known to keep running until it gets there! My friends think I’m mad. πŸ€ͺ

I did consider it, but put most of my final effort into a sprint finish, think making up the difference would have been a crawl! 🀣🀣
