Hello π just thought I'd update where I am with my training. I am on week 5 of the plan (from Laura Fountain of Lazy girl running - marathon squad). So far it's been fairly manageable - I asked for 3 runs a week so now I'm on 4 miles slow, 4 miles with speed session and 10 miles this weekend. I'm doing at least twice a week pilates for runners online sessions (which causes much more muscle ache than the running!) I feel very tired - but think that's just end of term tired and my sleep has not been brilliant. I bought a new watch - a Garmin 245 so am adapting to that and hoping the battery will be better than my polar ignite. I got this in the prime sale and also new shokz head phones because I think I will need music support in my marathon. I'm thinking Loch Ness is going to be quieter than town races like Cardiff half where I didn't need music as there was plenty of entertainment to boost you. My energy levels get really affected by music so I know it will help me! I'm going trainer shopping soon to my local run shop as my trainers are feeling sloppy.... and I've probably done the milage in them.... π€ And that's why I have 3 jobs..... purely to fund my run habit π photo from last night's late run - I don't like evening runs but sometimes needs must.... The daisies are the sunshine I found on that wet day!

Week 5 marathon training plan π
well done Cowlady, sounds like a good plan that is working for you. Xx
You sound very organised and I can imagine you ticking off the boxes with each week. Well done to you.
Will they allow headphones in the Loch Ness Marathon? Many events organisers don't.
Only bone conduction I think so that's why I got these. I have never worn any for a race before so don't really mind if it's a definite no as it's also nice to chat to people too.... I'm just feeling need to have everything available!! I may gain confidence as the miles in training go up...
Massive well done Cowladyrunning because it's tough training for a Marathon. Is it your first? The music is a good idea. I liked to have steady songs (or even The Archers) the first half or so then upbeat songs with tempo for the rest. The new trainers are an awesome idea and will give you confidence on the big day. Keep on knocking them out πππππ
It sounds like youβre doing brilliantly! I really like the sounds of your training plan. Hope you carry on enjoying it.
Iβve got the same headphones and I absolutely love them. Happy trainer shopping tooβ¦I spent my London marathon entry fee on a new pair so at least some good came out of missing out!!
Have a great week xx
Good going! It's such a myth that running is a free sport, just walk out the door and you're off π
Goodness, you are busy, the plan seems to be going well. Enjoy your new running things, isn't it great to get new things for running?
Well done. I've been following your progress on Strava. The cross training is a great idea too. Keep going ππͺ
