April has been a busy time for those pompoms so letβs have a final flourish before we say goodbye to this month and hello to the next one.
We have two amazing runners with events this Sunday, both of them beside or near water! So, please send them lots of good luck wishes and wave your pompoms wildlyΒ πππ
π½First up weβre heading to the French RivieraΒ πΒ where Β Β Β Fran6500 will be running the Nice 10K. This looks such a gorgeous route, a promenade run beside the beautiful blue sea. We can all imagine being there Fran to wave our pom-poms!
EDIT: Sadly, Fran is unable to run this event now. We wish her a good recovery and weβll see her another time.
π½Next, weβre in the UK and heading to the gorgeous market town of Kings Lynn in Norfolk where Β Β Β 00marks will be running the Grand East Anglia 10K. An amazing looking route, βtaking in views of the Walks, the river and several historic buildings along the way.β Enjoy every step 00marksΒ π
Good Morning IP. What wonderful races our lovely HU runners have lined up for this week. Must admit to wanting to be with Fran in Nice, not to run you understand, but to enjoy the ambiance. Good luck to her and to David and OOmarks. May the sun be shining gently and the wind be always at your back. Pom poms at the ready π
Sending you an advance wave from my Renaissance pompoms - I'll actually be singing on Sunday so please consider that a cheer. Enjoy your events! ππ
pom-poms are waving for Fran6500 - running in Nice sounds amazing, and 00marks in East Anglia. At least the cold easterly winds have disappeared for you. Thereβs nothing like running by the water!
Have great runs this weekend everyone especially Fran6500 and 00marks . Wow, running in Nice sounds fantastic. Might have to look into that for next year! πππ
Oh. Thank you so much for all your kind and supportive comments. Unfortunately, i had to cancel our trip to Nice as i have been unwell and havenβt run for circa 4 weeks . I havenβt been on the forum much and sorry not to have let you know of my change of plan.
As anyone with thyroid problems will know, it can be one step forward and four back until things are βback to normal β.
Iβm going back to Portugal tomorrow and seeing my doctor the week after. Iβm hoping the warmth and sunshine will help me heal a bit quicker after being in the uk for the previous 7 weeks.
My next planned challenge is the York 10 km in early August and Iβm really hoping I can build up to doing that. Both Nice and York are annual traditions for me and Iβd like to keep it going!
What a shame Fran. We were all looking forward to waving our pompoms in Nice π
Iβm sure thyroid problems are tricky to manage sometimes. I wish you well with your recovery and hope that Portugal does you the power of good π
Thanks for letting us know and weβll hold the pompoms until another time. Good luck with the training and be sure to let us know in our August Events post in time for York.
