Thought I'd better catch up the other two and add my bit! It was lovely to meet MissUnderstanding and SkiMonday and I did enjoy being able to run 15k with someone else. It was a lovely sunny morning in South Wales but not in the Forest. Drizzle and cold and my feet got wet just walking the field to get my race number..... take spare shoes next time - or wellies! It was a lovely place to run (I like it there anyway) and I felt pretty good right round - I walked most the hills and only felt myself flagging the last 2 miles (which always seem hard - on any distance!) The last part was on cobbled path which was really hard to run on. My muscles are not too bad but when I took my (toe) socks off I saw I had a nasty blister on each little toe - I hadn't really felt them while running luckily. So don't listen to me when I advise about trainer buying - although these were great up to 10 miles but maybe I should have gone up a size bigger again for longer distances? Hope my muscles stay ok as a friend has said she will come and show me how to use weights in strength training on Tuesday (yes I've been reading Next Level by Stacey T Sims) π
My turn for Forest of Dean Half race ... - Fun Beyond 10K & ...
My turn for Forest of Dean Half race report!
I reckon that walking is a good way to deal with tired legs after longer runs.
As for blisters, socks can make a huge difference. The ones that I use arenβt available in a womenβs fit but Iβve used More Miles socks in the past and they seemed good for preventing blisters. I only stopped using them because they wore out before the others.
I know I'm really annoyed as I usually wear thin toe socks and runderwear anti blister socks on top! Silly me but on my 10 miles I only had toe socks on.
Were your feet dry on your 10 miler? Itβs unfortunate that what worked then didnβt work today.
I managed to get blisters last year by running with old socks with holes in them. Had a really long run the following day but, wearing my usual socks, I didnβt have any problems. So, if you want to run in the next few days, going back to your sock combination might be enough.
fabulous achievement, sorry about your blisters, hope they heal quickly. X
Well done Cowladyrunning sounds as though you had a good day! I'm pleased you didn't feel those blisters during the run, hopefully they heal themselves quickly.
Flipping wonderful, apart from the 2 little blisters that is
Oh my ... weights training? you are a glutton for punishment π I can absolutely sympathise with you on the blister front - maybe we could start a club? May they heal fast!
Congratulations on a great run π
Well done! How lovely to meet other VRBs π
It was a good job you didn't feel the blisters on the way around as they hurt like hell. Consider them the evidence of your hard work πͺ
Congratulation CLR! ππββοΈπββοΈππ. Hubbyβs going cycling there tomorrow π₯°
Well done Cowladyrunning , and boo to the blisters, hope they heal soon!
Sounds like you are already at the next level Cowladyrunning !

Well done! Shame about the blisters though βΉοΈ
Congratulations. Sounds like a lovely place to run!
That sounded like a great day, congratulations π. Shame about the blisters but it's all part of the challenge π, I got blisters when my feet got wet on a run last year and they were special double layer anti blister socks... I don't think I've worn them since.
Congratulations! ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ». It may be beautiful but it sounds like a tough run.
Well done!! I reckon fast walking when legs get tired is a really good idea, especially up any hill, regardless of whether it's big or small!! π π
Sorry for taking so long to get to your post Cowladyrunning . Congratulations on a great race and how lovely it must have been in the forest too.
Boo to the blisters. I hear compeed plasters are brilliant.
Huge Congratulations on yet another HM cowladyrunning!πββοΈπ Wet feet before you started might have contributed towards those nasty little blisters, but I can only imagine how tough it is to run that distance, and 'battle scars' of this type are a badge of honour!
I hope they recover quickly, meanwhile you have another lovely medal well earned.
