Currently in the middle of a HM plan, but being me I decided (with a little persuasion) to enter a 10k trail run - I’ve never been off road before.
So on my rest day yesterday, I donned my cast off road shoes and drove up the local fell, fortunately the weather was kind. The run was quite pleasant winding gently to the summit of the fell then down a few km’s to run alongside a river. I just knew there would be a catch….
The final km was across a freshly spread field and up a 21% gradient hill. Needless to say not a lot of running happened on that final ascent!
There was a 20km route that I briefly considered, but so glad I elected for the shorter one.
My spare shoes are no longer allowed in the house either…
There’s a couple of pictures on the Strava link for those interested.
That looks like fun Reggit . Impressive that you managed it in cast-off road shoes! They might look exhausted, but after a good brushing they should fully recover. 😈
Great run but oops - that smell 😱 even living amongst it as I do, I would NOT chose to run through it - without wellies!!! However, I do love a trail run! Glad you chose old trainers!
