A few young kids were trying to start a fire in the entrance to the car park where my mum lives this evening. I decided to give chase (after careful thought about safety as they weren’t very tall), more to see if I could catch up with them than anything else. The tallest one broke from the pack so I thought I’ll have him, and I did. I was running behind him saying “it’s no use mate. You’ll never get away.” So he just stopped. I felt like a cheetah must do when it catches its prey. 😂 I gave him a piece of my mind 😡 and retrieved the lighter.
They won’t be back in a hurry. He looked absolutely terrified. Needless to say if they were bigger I’d never have done it. Too risky,

Well done RunBrianRun ! I particularly like the image of you chasing down the lad, as I'm pretty certain he'd be thinking that the old guy would never get near him. Little did he know. Brilliant! 👏👏👏
Yes Cmoi, they initially just ran around the corner and stopped obviously thinking that that old boy will never catch them. But when they caught sight of me hurtling round the corner they soon ran off. Had about a 40 metre head start I’d say. 😂👍
Thank you cheeky. 😊 I yanked his hood off and pulled his mask off his face while giving him the full hairdryer treatment with my head torch shining in his face. Should have seen those eyes. 😂
I’m sure he won’t be back here again. I told him, that now I know what he looks like, If I ever see him again, I won’t be so nice. 😇😂
Just love this Brian - a 61 year old sprinter? They’d probably never seen the like. If they are going to do naughty things, they’ll have to up their game in the running stakes.
Awesome Brian! This sounds like the start of an inspirational film where you then start a run club to get these misdirected youth off the street and into track running and by the end the team wins the national meet and there are lots of happy tears.
Oh, that’s quite brilliant, Decker. There was something similar on TV here last year with a famous England cricketer, Andrew Flintoff. He had FAR more patience than me. 😅
I really like this! So when are you starting the new running club Brian? I'm sure that you could develop any further patience needs as you go along, or ask Andrew Flintoff for some hints 😊🏃🏻♂️🏃♂️🏃🏾♂️🏃🏻♂️🏃♂️🏃🏾♂️🏃🏻♂️🏃♂️🏃🏾♂️
I must admit, there was quite an adrenaline rush as I was chasing them. I’m glad it wasn’t too much further mind. 😅
I am saddened, dismayed and angry at the behaviour of, what seems to be, a growing number of wayward teens who have absolutely no concern about the consequences of their behaviour. There’s literally no deterrents. I have witnessed many incidents on the streets and on trains etc where they are simply not challenged by anyone nowadays. I have stepped in a few times now but invariably I’m on my own. Others watching on. Society needs to get a grip. I’ll stop there or I’ll rant on for ever 😂
handy isn’t it this turn of pace when required 😀🌪. Good for you 😀
Stoopid boy (Shakes head). They do such daft things. Fortunately most grow out of it. They are shocked by challenge though. They’re all our kids at the end of the day so we do have a vested interest in ‘avin a word’ 🙂
