Blood tests

Hi,

Has anyone considered blood test analysis for runners? I train in Cyprus and sweat humongously flushing out who know what. There are several labs where I can go and get all sorts of analysis done pretty cheaply and usually get my Cholesterol, vits B12 and D and blood sugar done yearly as these have been known to be worthy of watching. I do not need a referal and the results come back with a range guideline.

Are there any other things worthy of checking whilst in there?

Nope. Nor for non-running reasons 🙂.

More pertinent to running, a sweat test is ideal to allow you to dial in hydration especially on endurance events/training.

I'd have a full blood panel yearly if I could including b12 and vitamins.

I live in Portugal and have annual blood tests mainly because of a thyroid issue but it seems it is normal for doctors to carry out these tests for most patients. I would suggest you add the stool test also. I feel a lot better having the tests and seeing the results and have had two conditions diagnosed from the tests in the last 5 years.
