I was just getting back to regular 10Ks after a foot injury at end of August thinking woopee I'm back π€£
Then I had family emergency π« and had to be up and down to Glasgow for two weeks and only managed one run each week,no strength training atall π
Gets home thinking good I'll get back to it..ran a nice 7K came out the shower and stubbed my baby toe sooo bad my foot was agony for a week!!!
So Monday I got out for a 5K really slowly.. got two strength training days in and just in from a great 8K π
Stopped for a bit of a rest at 4K to take in the view over the lake just as Disco Inferno came on my sound track.. just couldn't help myself..had a little boogie to myself π
That made me laugh and I really enjoyed the next 4K, as tough as it was π¬
I dare'nt say I'm back..but I'm trying π€πͺβ¨πββοΈ

Iβve had a similar snakes-and-ladders experience to you. I had recovered from a back injury and reached 14K again and then NOPE! My back didn't like it one bit so I had to take more time off and Iβm just starting to build up again. Itβs so frustrating but we always get there eventually don't we? π
Ooh I hope you are getting better with that π slowly slowly.. as long as we are trying π€. Yes very frustrating... Even after all these years.. the disappointment when injury strikes π¨
Last year I managed to walk with only a little bit of running a half marathon, a few weeks ago I ran all but 500 metres a half marathon, so I am going the full distance on the 27th November and running a half marathon, I still go to parkruns on a Saturday morning but won't be going on Saturday 26th November.
Hi Soarky! Good to see you π. Really pleased to hear youβre back out there, youβll get up to speed in no time Iβm sure. I hope your family is now ok.
Stubbing a toe badly is SO painful, ouch π£. I had a physio appointment this morning (hamstring) as Iβve been struggling this end too. Iβm allowed to do a very slow 3k tomorrow, canβt wait!
Itβs a journey isnβt it.
Disco Inferno - definitely one for my playlist, Iβm always on the lookout for musical inspiration.
Frenc I'm a bruised up mess atm πFoot was black, had to have a canuala in for my scans on Monday 5 times it took to get it fitted my hand and arm is black and blue π
But I ran... What are we like!
Really hope that hamstring behaves tomorrow π good luck.. and Thanks ππββοΈ
I hope you family are all ok and that toe is healing.
I love it when a good tune comes on out the blue, I feel like I have perfected the sing and dance while you run routine over the years, I get some strange looks but it does tend to make people smile.π.
