How's it going? Tell us all about it in the comments! π
It is with much regret that I tell you that this will be my last post on HealthUnlocked. I have decided that my time here is over.
I have had a fabulous six-ish years of posting on HU, from C25K onwards! I've had loads of fun being an admin - particularly here on Marathon! And you may not realise it, but for the past three years I have been co-ordinating our amazing team of admins who look after FIVE running and fitness communities!!! It's been a privilege to work with such a lovely bunch of humans.

P.S. nowster asked me if there were any highlights I'd like to share and I've been down a rabbit hole since π
β I think the things I did as an admin that I'm most proud of are probably the Spring 2019 Half Marathon Plan, and the two lockdown speed challenges - one on Marathon and one on Bridge, the latter had SUCH a good turnout!
β Personally speaking, I think my 2018 running shenanigans were a highlight!
Sorry to hear this is your last post, but I can imagine what a commitment it has been.
I post very sporadically here, but have always appreciated your support. Really encouraging participation and being so helpful, one of your challenges (Running the same 1k stretch every week over a month) really helped me achieve my 5k pb, but far more importantly helped me gain confidence in running.
I really am very grateful and wish you all the best for the future!
Yikes, I nearly didn't catch this news. Gutting to know you won't be around on the running forums (and hope it is not a sign of anything less than good happening in your life, nothing anyone on HU did, or that you don't feel you can step down from it being unpaid work and just participate) I know it is very possible to feel past one's sell-by date here (quite spontaneously) or that you've extracted every last drop of goodness for yourself from it and (understandably) don't quite feel like you want to keep giving it out and that's quite normal and OK, but 'much regret' worries me.... Take care, you've done a brilliant job here!
Oh gosh Roseabi this makes me so sad. Iβm really sorry that you feel you have to leave us entirely. Could you not just hang up your admin coat and be one of us? Obviously you have your reasons but please donβt abandon us all completely. π’ Youβll be greatly missed. π
Enjoy your ongoing running journey. Bigger and better things? Or maybe taking time to chill for a while? You deserve both in equal measure.
Thanks for everything youβve done on these brilliant forums. I donβt do social media as I donβt like it, apart from peeking at FB for PR updates, but HU is my one exception. β€οΈ
Although I knew this post was coming, I tried to pretend it wasen't I have only shared a short time with you on the Admin team but every second has been a pleasure .
Thank you for your time, patience and commitment to the communities.
You will be greatly missed .
Very best wishes for whatever is next for you , take care .
So sorry to hear this. Your own running highs and lows have been truly inspiring. But things canβt continue forever and youβve put in a solid stint! Enjoy what ever comes next, which I hope will include continuing your own running.
Ah Roseabi I knew this was coming also, but it doesnβt make it any easier. I completely understand youβd need to step back with all you were involved in. I do hope you stay close and post every so often. We will worry you knowβ¦π
Thank you for your massive contributionβ¦. You have made a huge difference to many of us β¦sometimes people need to take time to care for themselvesβ¦. Be happy.πxx
Yes, I knew this post was coming, and I do understand and respect your decision roseabi . While I'd love to see you stick around as a community member, I can also imagine that could be really difficult for you.
So, just in case yours is a permanent sign-off, or a long break, let me say how much I appreciate all you've done on and for HU, from the visible stuff like Marathon posts and organising virtual events, to the constant behind-the-scenes admin, which takes so much time, energy, and diplomacy.
I also want to thank you for your kindness and support for me personally. And let's not forget that you're an amazing, inspiring runner and tri-athlete as well.
Whatever your future holds, keep on being fabulous!
PS On my run yesterday I rounded the first bend and came across a mummy fox and her three babies, right in the middle of the road. Even though they skedaddled almost immediately it was so lovely to see them. I promptly sacked off Garmin in favour of 12km distance and 257m vertical of views, birdsong, cowbells and wild strawberries.
Oh wow! that is sad news Roseabi, you've given so much to HU and to us, thank you, it must have been a huge commitment, you are an inspiration and whatever you have planned for the future, all the very best of luck. You will be missed
Sorry to hear about you leaving HealthUnlocked Roseabi, I wish you good luck for the future, it must take a lot of time to read all the posts from C25K to the Marathon forum and answering them back, very time consuming I would think, I hope your successor or whoever that is wiil be as good as you were on this forum, once again I wish you all the best for the future.
You are a complete inspiration β¨οΈ thank you so much for all your hard work on this site... you will be missed! Wishing you all the best for your future adventures π
Hi roseabi and sorry this is your last post, but thanks for everything youβve done on the forum and all your advice, support and encouragement! Very best of luck with everything ππ
Oh no roseabi, weβre really going to miss you π’ Youβve been such a massive support to all of us.
It must take a tremendous amount of work to keep on top of everything and have a life outside. Thank you for everything you have done and all the support you have given, with love and huge respect from me, Katnap and all the Kat family xxx
PS - the lockdown runs were pretty special werenβt they?!
You and the rest of the admin team do an amazing job. A BIG thank you to you for all your hard work and interesting, informative and supportive posts ππ All the best to you in the future - which I hope includes lots of enjoyable runs.
Thank you for all the work you have put in as admin. It has been very much appreciated but I'm sure has involved a lot of time and effort. You should be proud that through this forum you will have seen lives changed in a very real way and that countless people will have benefited from getting off the couch, starting running and progressing from 5K to 10K, HM, marathons and even to ultras.
roseabi thank you for all your dedication and support on this forum. You have been there from C25K through to HM and even now to triathlon so I really appreciate all your advice and wisdom. Wishing you all the best β€οΈ
Aw thank you mw!!! You are probably the first person I "met" on HU and you are a huge inspiration to me!!!!! Hope things are going well for you, and maybe one day I'll see you at the Maravan πππ
I know youβve been thinking of this for some time, but I am still so saddened to see you leave. And apologies to repeat here publicly what I said privately but it is so true.
Youβve been a huge HU role model for me.
I have continually seen how much effort you put into all our running forums, ensuring no post goes unanswered and resolving any issues. You have supported so many members of the forum, including myself.
So huge, gigantic thanking hugs from me as as a runner, a workout person and walker. Your encouragement in every single post and message was instrumental in motivating me to get to the next stage.
And also the utmost thank you from me as an admin. Behind the scenes you ensured I was doing ok on the S&F forum, leaving me feeling that I had the support I needed.
So biggest wishes to you for your next adventure. I'm sure you'll decide on new fitness horizons to reach!
Thank you dear Roseabi for keeping these communities together and strong. You have been an inspiration in your personal running and in your support and advice. I really appreciated the lockdown strength and flex and virtual events. Wishing you well for the future. Xxx
Thank you for your time and generosity. I don't post that much here but when i have asked questions or achieved a goal your responses have been full of encouragement and knowledge. Have a wonderful time & fun with the space this creates and sounds like new running adventures to come.ππ X
Oh, Wowβ¦β¦ havenβt been on here for a while, just having a look as I found myself on my 9th runneraversary today. Wishing you the best in you new freedom, π. I know how much you have done for all the forums. Take care of yourself. Rfc x
Double wow!!!!!! Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!! And a huge Happy Runnerversary to you πππ You definitely know, superstar πππ Thank you, and happy running xxxxxxx
Nice to hear from you again Realfoodieclub, a big congratulations on the occasion of your 9th runniversary, πππΎ ππΎ ππΎ ππΎ ππΎ ππΎ ππΎ ππΎ ππΎ you used to be an administrator, not fancy returning as roseabi is leaving.?
Hi there. πππ. I had a look at S&F earlier. You are doing a great job on there. I am still motivating myself on my strength and stretches, so far I have managed once a week. Not exactly a gold star more like a could do better. π, but Iβve always thought it is so important for any sport to cross train. Keep up the good work. Rfc x
Thank you roseabi for the hours youβve given to this community. Things like this donβt happen without people like you. Enjoy your non-administrative future running!
So sorry to see you go. You have inspired and motivated so many of us on the forums. They have grown so much, I can well imagine it must have become almost a full time job. It sounds as though you are going for all the right reasons and having exciting plans, so all the luck in the world. See you on Strava xxx
Oh no ! But totally appreciate the commitment and time it takes to support these communities and you've done an excellent job all round. And had so many amazing running adventures, inspiring! All thr best for the future you'll be sorely missed! ππββοΈπͺxxx
so sorry to hear its your last post, so a big thank you from me for all your brilliant support on this fantastic forum. Im sure I wouldn't be as effective as a runner and relatively injury free if it wasn't for this forum and everyone on here!
Aw .... Thank you so much for your really valued input over lots of years (I don't know how many) which must have taken hours and hours. I have so appreciated all your input including the HM plan and the strength exercises with it. One day my body may be ready to complete the exercises again but my medial meniscus tear is not at all good, so no running for the time being. I saved your exercises.I so enjoyed reading of your amazing, awesome runs together with your cycling and swimming.
I am not on strava, so I do hope you update us now and again about how things are going. All the very, very best for the next chapter of your running journey and many, many thank yous.
So sorry to hear that you are βretiringβ. You will be greatly missed. Thank you for all the inspiration, which has been such a huge help. Good luck with whatever you do next and I hope it involves lots of running. Take care and stay well.
