My first half marathon! I say 'first', we'll see about that!
First 9k went well, no pain from those pesky calves or hamstrings. Then I randomly got pain in my groin, hip & quad in my right leg. I had to keep stopping and trying to stretch it all out, but I didn't really know what I was doing and it stayed with me for the rest of the run.
Anyway, the long & short of it is that I completed it in 2:32:52, which I was delighted with!
You guys have been amazingly supportive. Thank you so much!

Yay Lizcanrun ! Yes she can! Thatβs brilliant and a really cracking time. I am so pleased for you. I hope you are doing something super nice to celebrate π, or just flopping π€£. Either sound good to me.

I didn't run more than 10 miles before I did it and I wasn't quite sure I believed people who said that that was all you needed to do. Turns out it's true!
Yes one of the girls in our running club just keeps saying, 'you can do it, it's only a Parkrun on top of your 10 miles,' hmmmmm, that still seems a long way!!!π€£π€£. Bet it's a wonderful feeling of achievment, you enjoy it , well deserved! ππββοΈ
Hedgehogs 123, I did my first 10 miles last summer and thought ' that's it, I've peaked' and didn't believe the comments.. ' if you can do that you can do a hm' at that stage there was no way I could even think it. Now, nearly a year on, and 2nd 10 miles last week, I'm beginning to think I can do it. I think a year of consistent running has given me the mental stamina alongside the physical.. So.. It could be you too?
Brilliant run, congratulationsππππ. You will feel a buzz for weeks now.... that makes all the hard work more than worth it.. such a great achievement. Hope you enjoyed the wineπΎπ·π₯
