OMG i'm in total shock i completed the GNR yesterday, wasn't pretty in the end my ankle went about 8 miles, and my friend who I've been training with kept stopping about 10 miles, and in the final mile i literally had to push him to keep him going, but we did it 3hrs 20 seconds.
thank you so much for the support and encouragement from this site, your kinds words really helped.
i did it for my dad an father in law and i know they both were supporting me to the end xxx
PS don't ask why i only have one slider on i haven't a clue LOL

Great day for the GNR. Hopefully now you can see how the pre-run anxiety is all worth it. In spite of the injuries its sounds like you had an amazing experience.
I think getting into the start pen a bit too early didn’t help me; it wasn’t so much the heat as the direct sun for an hour before and then all the way round. I’ll pack a running cap and extra suncream next time!
